Technology Update - Robotics
Do you want to know what is happening in the world of robotics?
Explore the 'inner geek' in yourself with this update on one of today's most exciting technologies.
With speakers from university and business, this BEN event will cover what the new developments are in the field, and what opportunities there are for exploiting the commercial potential of robotica and sensor technology in business.
There will be time for networking with fellow businesspeople, and one-to-one consultations with experts in the field.
We will be joined by three highly-qualified speakers whose details will appear here as soon as they have been confirmed.
Professor Alan Winfield - Bristol Robotics Laboratory
An engineer and academic at UWE Bristol, Professor Winfield conducts research into mobile robotics within the Bristol Robotics Lab.
His current work focusses on the engineering and scientific applications of Swarm Intelligence and he is particularly interested in the questions it raises about culture, emergence, self-organisation and intelligence.
Professor Winfield is keen to share research and ideas in the field of robotics as he believes that robots, complex and useful machines, which embody every design challenge and discipline there is, will become ubiquitous in the very near future. This of course raises the question of what future robotics can do for your business?

Thanks to the support of the Bristol and Bath Science Park we have an amazing venue for our 2012 series of events. This fabulous centre for innovation is easily accessible and has plenty of available parking.
The evening begins at 6pm with informal Networking over a glass of wine and an amazing Friska buffet .
